Question Intermittent Internet Issues since new router

Hi all,

Hope you're all well - hoping to get some advice from people who know more than I about this stuff...

I recently upgraded by internet speed from 50 to 200 mbps. It is with the same provider and down the same fibre cable but they sent me a new Virgin Media hub to install (although looks identical).

While my speed has indeed gone up and my ping (whenever I test it) stays sub 50ms, since the upgrade I have a problem in that my internet intermittently (3-4 times per minute) stutters. By this I mean my in-game ping jumps to 1200 and people can't hear me over discord for a few seconds. This continues over discord when not playing as well. Naturally this is very annoying and makes many competitive games unplayable.

Have checked my router settings and I have UPNP enabled. I am at a bit of a loss and will admit I don't know much about how these settings work. Can anyone advise what I should do to diagnose and fix this?

u can run tracert command to know where fault is
u should run it when u stutter

I ran it for 8.8.8.8 and it comes out with this each time - seems it makes it to my router but the issue is with my ISP?

Would welcome any help interpreting this or advice as to how to fix
