I have a 5G router from 3 that is using an EE sim. It works on my phones and my laptop and it used to work on PC, but stopped. I have tried changing the APN to the same one that my phone is using, but that doesn't help. I have reset my network adapter and it works on my VDSL connection. I have also tried plugging an ethernet cable in. I think it might be an IP, DNS issue but don't know anything about them. TIA.

On the PC run "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) via the Command Prompt.

Copy and paste the results herein.

Which specific model 5G router?

Is the default IP address 192.168.8.1?
Thanks for the reply.

The default IP for it is 192.168.1.1

Router and PC (per "ipconfig /all") are in agreement with respect to the Gateway = 192.168.1.1

PC, at that time being provided with 192.168.1.12 as a DHCP IP address.

Three immediate things to try:

1) Disable IPv6

2) Change the DNS Servers to Google using 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

3) Are you able to log into the Router using a browser and the router's IP address = 192.168.1.1?

You will need the router's admin name and password in order to log into the router's admin menus.

Failing the above:

Does the following User Manual match your router?

Source for SIM card?

Source for SIM card?
I turned off IPv6 before and that didn't work, I also tried the 8.8.8.8 for the DNS. I can log into the routers settings using 192.168.1.1. I haven't changed anything and it is working today, granted it did this last week and it was off again by the next the morning. SIM is an EE 5g sim card, got it from EE's website as part of an employee discount.

So when you are having issues can you log into the router. Is it the router that is losing the connection or is it just your pc can not access anything including the router.
It connects to the router and I can log into it, it just says no internet and doesn't work. My phone and laptops still work though.

What I would try is when it is broken try to ping 8.8.8.8.
I would also insure you can still actually log into the router.

If 8.8.8.8 responds then you likely have a DNS issue. If it does not then you have to suspect that the router is for some reason blocking your pc. Is there a limit on the number of devices the router allows to be connected at the same time.

I tried pinging that from the router settings when it wasn't working and it always just timed out. As far as I am aware I only have 3 devices connected to it, but I will look into the device being blocked. Thanks for all the suggestions. I really appreciate the help.

I guess I was confused when you said you could login to the router when you couldn't get to the internet. It would be strange you could login to the router but could not ping it. The other way around where you could ping it but not log in would be more common since that could be some browser issue or something.

So if you have no access at all to the router I would do the IPCONFIG /all while it is broken and compare the results with the one you posted which I assume you did while it was working.

What you might see is the ethernet port in disconnected state or not having IP addresses. You could also try
IPCONF /release
IPCONF /renew

That might fix it if it is a dhcp issue but it also test a even more basic communication to the router. If you can not talk to the router you will not get a ip address...you will see something that starts with 169.x.x.x. If you get ip addresses it means you can talk to the router....or at least DHCP works for some reason.
