I like how totally Microsoft her desk is. Spiffy new MS Sculpt Ergonomic keyboard (presumably ergo mouse as well), Nokia Windows Phone, IE logo bookend, and of course, a Surface tablet. There's even an Xbox One under the monitor. You can also see a W3C exam book, probably alluding to the fact that IE is much more standards-compliant now than ever before. Nice touch MS Singapore. If only Inori became the worldwide official mascot. Alas, Redmond HQ doesn't have that kind of moxy.

Inori also had a senpai call "XP"-tan. She was very talent and popular. But now she is old and crazy. All their friends and even her parent decided to leave her to die later next year.

But anime has around a 7 billion viewer viewer base

The thing that microsoft is not fully grasping is that while the majority of the planet likes watching anime, it is not about the anime characters. it is because there are many extremely good anime shows with good production value and a well thought out storyline, and just overall well made.

eg how up to date are you on episodes of

Gingitsune
Outbreak Company
Freezing Vibration
Strike the Blood
Yuushibu
Kill la Kill
Nagi no Asukara
Coppelion
NouKome
BlazBlue - Alter Memory
Kyoukai no Kanata
Arpeggio of Blue Steel - Ars Nova

you may be amongst the 7 billion+ people who are at least 6 episodes in.

I think its a good idea for them to roll out a better mascot than a stupid "e"... Maybe for the American market they can roll out a Christopher Columbus looking "explorer" or a futuristic space ship captain... or hey since theyve already decided on the anime girl they could just stick with that. It wont make people switch based solely on it of course but the character can at least be used to show off new features of their browser in little comics or something... and that might make people switch. Not like MS doesnt have the billions to blow on a test of the idea.

They should make the page available on other browsers though because if they dont then no one will go to the page (or they'll go there and get the crying icon and think its broken and leave) and they wont learn the new features in IE and not switch... its nvidia physx all over again.

Anybody who thinks IE sucks needs to uninstall the 5 crapware toolbars they've got on it, because I can't see a damn difference between any of the browsers (assuming updated and clean) nowadays.

I'm getting the same in IE8 too HAHA.
