I have a DSL connection and can navigate from one web site to another without
any problem. Occasionally when I go to certain websites the dial-up
connection box comes up and wants to dial even though I am already connected
through DSL. IE6 then forces me into an OFF-LINE condition. Whats going on.

P.S. It happens evry time when I go to the Lexmark website.

Sounds like those sites are loading a web hijacker/dialer.
You must have the firewall turned ON, anti-virus installed
and running, anti-spyware ditto. Also set the "never dial"
setting on the connections page.
You can also disconnect or disable the 56 k modem, unless
you also use the fax in the computer.

These dialers will dial off-shore and cost many dollars per
minute added to your phone bill.
