Internet slowed down by another using wireless.

I am using my 2nd router which is connected to my main router downstairs. My 2nd router is then connected to my computer via ethernet cable. My ping is at an ok 52 but whenever my brother downstairs in connected to the internet via wifi it makes my ping go bad. Is their anyway I can fix this so we can both have good pings?

Only suggestion I can provide after reading various forums about this particular router is that it's limited in what you can do and the only true way to resolve it may be to just change to a better router. Then you can remove your extender as well.
There's a huge manual I found and forums I read said that it really won't matter what settings you change anyway as the ISP will be throttling your network no matter what you try to do.

wouldn't I remove the router that's connected to my PC because there is no options for it? Not my main router?

the main router is whats controlling everything. extenders just extend off the router, it's not like you really have 2 full routers up.. you have a router and an extender.
