[citation][nom]getreal[/nom]@HalcyonI know people that jumped on the Android 4G bandwagon from a 3GS. They liked it at first, but almost all of the people I know have had issues with the build quality (broken charger ports, screens breaking randomly, OLED burn-in, etc).[/citation]
Clearly you didn't read the study from insurance companies that comparatively there's a lot more people using their insurance to repair broken screens on their iPhones than any other phone.

maybe because there are a lot more iPhone in the market than any other single device, samsung might sell more than apple but its not from one single model. when I say iPhone you don't ask which one but if I say samsung you separate them by model.

it could be an old turd but as long as it has the apple logo on it the sheeple will flock in numbers 😗

err, because as long as it has an apple logo on it you know the phone it's not going to start acting up, restarting itself, and locking up randomly 3 months after you bought it and you will be able to sell it 2 years later for at least 75% of its original retail, because they last.

There, I fix it for you!!

It's also related to Apple having often used easily-broken glass (not that they're the only ones who have done that).

Although I personally don't purchase Apple devices, I've used several Macs, Macbooks, and a few iPhones and although they usually didn't have problems, they were not immune to problems. Apple also uses some of the less reliable motherboards and such for many of their computers and I've experienced failures as well as dealt with them when friends and family members had Apple hardware that failed. I've had Macbooks lock up and I've seen iPhones acting up. This doesn't happen often, but it does in fact happen. There have also been a few phones that have dangerous battery failures and at least a few iPhone models have done that (although as most of us probably know, this is extremely rare).

true, Im not saying they are perfect and that they never have problems, but for example with my iMac (I was counting) I only restarted the computer twice in 12 months, once because it there was a disk in the desktop and I already had taken the disk out and the second time because iTunes wasn't responding, I bet other restart their computer probably twice a month.

IMO, not perfect but they are more stable and reliable than the competition.

BTW before turning into an Apple iSheep, I was completely against them up until I bought an iMac to try it out, today I still have the iMac(2009) still running solid, iPhone 4S, Macbook Pro, iPad 3, Apple TV(not a huge fan of it, I'll still recommend a Roku, unless you have more Apple products)

I don't have to restart any of my computers nearly that often regardless of their operating system.

"iPhone 5 Gets Double the Pre-orders of iPhone 4S on Day 1"

Well that's because they gave it a new number. People get all pissed if you just put a letter on the end. But a number, oh now that's a game changer.

Were not talking about absolute numbers but relative numbers. So your argument is invalid.

fixed whaT? all you did was translate my post into the language of an apple fanboi.

Sadly, with some people, that seems to be the case - line up in a huge crowd waiting to buy the new iPhone just because, well, it's the new iPhone. Just because. I know I have better things to spend my time on.

[citation][nom]blazorthon[/nom]I use the internet while I'm on the phone a lot. I'll use it when I'm on hold, when I have to look something up while I'm on the phone, when I want to send an email while I'm on the phone, running downloads while I'm on the phone, and more. When I'm not at home and I have to do something like any of that, I usually have to use the phone's 3G/4G connection for the internet while I'm on the phone. It'd really suck to not have that capability.[/citation]
I've only used that once (when I got lost on a trail and had to poll my location on Google Maps when my parents called). In general, it's not a big deal for me though - I think GSM phones always have to have it though, and I'm not willing to be locked to a carrier with CDMA, so...

[citation][nom]hpbatteries[/nom]For those who are fortunate enough to have an iPhone 5, they will definitely desire to get a unique case for the phone to keep it protected and safe. These cool cases are not only designed to look nice also they are quite functional and useful at the same time. Espow is always looking for ways to improve upon the designs of our[/citation]
I'm even luckier, I have a Samsung Galaxy S3...you should read up about them...they're quite nice. 😉

Again apple is conning sheeple into thinking they getting something new when in fact Samsung & HTC flagship phones are sporting a quad core processors and also not forgetting the millions of free apps available on the play store. With this in mind what would ever make u sheeple think that this is gonna be so much better tech wise. The only sheeple that I know that buy apple products in general buy them for the bragging rights. Personally I would look quite a bit further than the logo. So in conclusion Apple is overpiced and has an inflated sense of worth due to its sheeple. Typical Herd mentallity!

While I love my SGS3 and Transformer Infinity I am keen enough to know that Android is not for everyone. Android devices need to be customized to be usefully intuitive and they are not simple...and the Android experience really is not consistent amongst the plethora of devices. This is an area where iOS does so well. A physician, attorney or countless other professionals may have more pressing things to do with their intelligence than figure out how to make their phones fit their busy lives. With iOS there is no learning curve for the majority of folks which makes it attractive to them and perhaps unattractive to you and I. For those that think learning the ins-and-outs of a new device is fun, as well as bending it to your submission there's Android. ...and I love it.

Thanks for the comment and you have a very good point all I can reply with is that there is a learning curve to any new device. So i would rather learn to use something a bit more versatile than the ios but I do think you have a point. Apple is taking advantage of consumer laziness cause it took my 60 year old non tech savvy uncle about a week to learn to use his S3 and will probably be an adroid fan till the end of his days. Thanks for the input though. ;-)

[citation][nom]someinternetdude[/nom]Yawn, bring on the new Google Nexus line of phones.[/citation]
Hmmm...why wait? Just get an HTC One X+ or an SGS3 {pick me, pick me}

regardless of sales, Apple has lost its competitive edge.

The iPhone5 & the iPad mini should have been a converged tablet/iphone (like the Note2) - and if they really wanted to define the category, they would implement secure remote terminal access (eg ssh) tightly integrated at the OS level rather than as an add-on notoriously unstable 3rd party app - allowing secure remote access and 'real' app access on personal or business computers with the ability to push pull data down as needed, thus allowing us to leave the laptop at home and eliminating the security exposure of lugging around a laptop.

The result: a TRULY converged device that would allow phone, browsing & access to real apps and data as needed in a single secure package. The irony: it requires no new technology nor engineering - they simply implement that which has been around for more than a decade. All it takes is a a few moments to think of how the various duplicitous devices now offered are used. And that being the case, I anticipate such an advancement to take another 10-20 years...

As it stands, we simply have a slightly smaller under-powered over-priced device that still requires that we still carry a cell phone and a laptop. Yawn.
