[SOLVED] Is a laptop with 2 cores and 4gb ram fast?

Hi i want to buy a laptop, its cpu has 2 cores, and 4gb ram.

i had another laptop with same and it was so slow, i sent it back. it could not even open webpages

will this one be slow too?

Unanswerable. I can find you a 10 year old dual core or one built yesterday. Which do you think would be faster?

4GB of memory is below typical these days. Only budget laptops would have 4GB of memory.

If you want actual advice, name a place, currency, and your maximum you have to spend.

Really it depends on the exact hardware.

If its old hardware, it wont be fast.
If its newer hardware it will be ok speed wise, but alot comes down to the storage drive.

The 4gb and 2c is a limiting, but a decent solid state storage drive would make it decently quick.

thanks for replies. i have an acer swift 3 with 4 cores and 8gb ram, its very fast.

Should be snappy due to the ssd and excel at web browsing and media playback.

The 4gb ram is the only thing that would be iffy for modern uses. A lot of chrome tabs will saturate 4gb ram and hit the page file causing performance loss.

Don't buy a dual core CPU in 2019. You deserve better
