Is a MSI GTX 980 4GB enough for Max Settings 1440p 144Hz?

Is a 4GB 980 Twin Frozr from MSI enough for 1440p 144Hz max settings over 60fps? I've no issue with turning down a few settings here and there. I also have a 4690K OC'd @ 4.5GHz and 16GB DDR3 OC'd @ 2400MHz in case that helps. I've no issue with turning down a few graphical settings btw xD

Go r9 390x for the 8 GB vram which will be beneficial at that resolution.

Yeah the 980 is a great option for 1440p, but as you say, you will need to reduce settings on many recent games.

Better get an R9 390X for 1440p. But if you want 1440p 144hz max settings(and get high fps) you would need something like gtx 980ti sli.

I thought it might. The reason for the 144Hz monitor is to play CS:GO, as I did on my friends Acer Predator monitor and it's way better. Also, I would love a beast refresh rate for most other games, and since a 980 SLI is wayy out of budget, I think I'll go with a 980 Ti as an extra 2GB VRAM would really help with GTA V Witcher 3 etc...
