Question Is "Blue light filter" a software technology or a hardware/physical component of Acer monitors?

I'm looking at some 1080p IPS Acer monitors like HA220Q, SB220Q (they are similar) and they have specifically mentioned like "Built in Blue light filter" / "Blue Light Shield" for eye care.
Example: Amazon Link

I want to know if it is some software technology (so it can reduce blue light like warm tones)?

OR is it some hardware / physical component added in front of the screen to practically filter it?

If it's not actually a hardware part, I would look at other brands too so I would have more options to buy the monitor. I primarily want to buy it because it is the most affordable eye care + blue light filter monitor for me.

Other monitors from LG, Samsung in same price range mention "eye care features" but I'm not sure they have this "blue light filter" thing.

i think its both. Its a physical characteristic of the monitors that can adjusted by software
https://www.acer.com/ac/en/AU/content/acer-visioncare
https://eyesafe.com/standards/ - bottom of this page lists companies who support the feature, including LG. I don't see Samsung mentioned.

Maybe this makes it easier to find who makes them - https://eyesafe.com/products/

After checking those links, I think none of the entry level monitors I was considering including LG, Acer have those EyeSafe certification. I think EyeSafe certified monitors are little more expensive.

Now, the Acer monitor I was cosidering has at least BlueLightShield (TM).

So it might be still better than LG?

LG Eyesafe is hard to figure out
I found some OLED TV's
https://www.lg.com/hk_en/monitor/lg-40wp95c-w
https://www.lg.com/hk_en/monitor/lg-49wq95c-w

need to search for "TÜV Rheinland certification ID (Low Blue Light - Hardware Solution) " on LG monitors

It does appear to be on the more expensive ones... Its not on my current monitor which is a LG 32GK650F-B but then its a gaming monitor. Different display type. TN compared to IPS.

could be, if its BlueLIghtShield Pro - https://www.acer.com/ac/en/AU/content/acer-visioncare

Sort of need models to compare. Many lower end LG don't have this at all, I don't think mine does.

No, it isn't the BlueLIghtShield Pro. It's just BlueLIghtShield in the monitor I am considering (Acer HA220Q).

The other closest monitor from LG is 22MP68VQ. Basic features are same.

Just confused which one would be better for eye care. Of course like we discussed none of them have EyeSafe. Any thoughts/suggestion?

The HA2200Q appears to have Acer Visoncare version 1.
it includes:
  • Bluelightshield
  • Flickerless
  • Low Dimming
  • Comfyview

its the base version of the features, I can't see what differences are apart from on the chart at bottom of this - https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/acer-visioncare

I would get the Acer as at least it has something.
I can't find anything that tells me what difference between the normal Blue light filter and the Pro one.
