There's a simple "fix" to this... like with Android phones. Simply HOLD down the SHIFT key for a second or two and then it SHIFT-LOCKS, a quick press again will turn it off.

Shift-Lock is rarely used and that saves space.

Where's the Windows Key on this notebook?

Something more useful would be to extend the CAPS LOCK key as a 4-way toggle to convert highlighted text to upper/lower/proper/original case. Other than that, I don't think the functionality should be messed with... just extended.

Who cares ? I don't even bother reading posts written with caps lock (or just plain lowercase, even to start sentences). It just shows how dumb that person is.

They could, however, add something like Ctrl+Shift to replace the Caps Lock key - and even if they don't I'm sure someone will.

Backspace and Shift keys are at the optimum length but just look at that left Alt ! Wow. Interesting that it doesn't have F1, F2, etc keys. Do you actually need them apart from maybe first person shooters ? Ctrl+S saves documents. Maybe F2 to rename things ? Ctrl+R ? Additional keys = fail. What the hell, Google ? You could set hotkeys for just about anything, especially if you have your own OS. But why learn or personalize a hotkey combination when there's a frigging button for it, right ? Wrong. That's a backwards way of thinking. If you're aiming for simplicity why not add a button for opening a new tab too ? Wait, you didn't. Did you ? Dude, Ctrl+T is basically universal for all browsers, including IE.
