I did some research on the web about IOBit software and from what I've heard, it's considered malware and will mess up your system.
Is this true at all? I've used Advanced SystemCare, DriverBooster, Uninstaller, and Software Updater and have had no issues with it at all.

Solution
I see. Well, what makes IOBit's software malware? I want to know the whys of it.
Driver Booster
What does it do for you that you can't do for yourself?
Install a new version when IT thinks you need it, whether you need it or not.

Advanced SystemCare
Continuously running in the background, testing things, looking for trouble.
Often, these things report "OMG! Your system is hosed" , when in reality nothing is actually wrong.
I've seen these things bring a brand new laptop to its knees.

Software Updater
Excuse me WHAT?
That is handled by the software manufacturer. Microsoft for Windows and Office, or the individual manufacturer/publisher of other stuff.
I'll thank you to keep your fingers OUT of my current...

what you want to do with that software .
Nothing really. I started getting into IObit products by first getting IObit Uninstaller. I had some programs that could not be uninstalled through the Windows' default uninstaller and plus, the default un-installer leaves junk files behind which makes it not the most effective.

It is doing nothing you can't do for yourself, except:
  1. Sucking up resources
  2. Prompting you to pay for something.
No thank you very much.

I see. Well, I originally got these programs, along with Uninstaller, because they made doing all of this stuff more automatic; therefore, increasing productivity by saving me a lot of time and effort. I would use these programs to get the latest system drivers, keep my software up-to-date, and optimize Windows to make sure it's as fast and responsive as possible. It seems like system optimization software is a joke. For making my system faster and more responsive, I might just stay with Disk Defragmenter & Disk Cleanup.

I’ve had personal first-hand experience with it each and every one. and none of them were any good and especially driver booster. it messes systems up more than it fixes them
A few years ago, my ex bought a new mediumly low end laptop.
Came preinstalled with "PC Doctor", some other "optimizer" thing, Norton.

It was literally unusable for an hour after hitting the power button.
All these things checking, and stepping all over each other.
One of them reported "There are 342 errors. The Full version can fix these with a single click. Buy here...".
This was on a brand new system.

At the very least, they will do and report whatever it takes to show you that Buy Now button.
Usually, they just make the system run worse.

I don't need this thing running all the time, and telling that Adobe Lightroom needs updating. Adobe can tell me that the next time I use it.

All of those optimization programs are garbage, even the MSI/ASUS game "boosters". Recently purchased a MSI GF63 that came with dragon software. I tried using it, then uninstalling it, then decided to just do a clean install of Windows and manually get all the drivers and the difference was pretty massive to even when I uninstalled those programs to doing the clean install, like a 12 FPS difference which was nice to get since it's a lower end unit (9300H/8gb/1650 Max-Q) but that increased in games like AC: Odyssey which is a demanding and not really well optimized game.

Now, what about third-party software that will make Windows more secure? DoNotSpy10, WinAeroTweaker, etc. Will using this type of software mess up your system just like with optimization software?

I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the same people that were responsible for this scam running the same game with IOBit.

You have to look really really really closely at:
  • What they say they do
  • What they actually do
  • What data they may be transferring to home base for their own purposes (oh yes they do this)

Almost all of those just change settings you can do yourself. And you doing it can be much more granular.

That's true. I was just using the means of third-party software to save time.

The only "optimization" program I'd recommend is Nvidia Geforce Experience when you install the driver. With it the software will optimize the game settings to match the resolution/refresh rate although I wouldn't recommend it if your monitor is over 100hz as it doesn't really do it well but 60-100 range works well. It will also notify you of driver updates and you can set it to auto download although you still need to install. This is recommended if you don't want to bother with setting up the game settings.

Disregard if using a AMD GPU or Intel iGPU.

Interesting, I'll most likely consider using that. It's not like those optimization programs like the IOBit ones or other ones similar to that.
