Is it my mobo?

So my windows got corrupted (sys file) and windows repair cd couldnt recover it. So i decided to take it to a friends who's an IT guy. I put my PC in the original case box with foam on the top and bottom. Drove it over. When i got their the computer would auto start when you plugged in the back, and the back power switch was on. It gave no signal to the monitor and the restart button wouldnt work. The power button wouldnt work either. It wouldnt let us shut down the computer, only just keep restarting it.

We slowly took each piece out of the mobo to see what might be the problem. He said with no ram in place the mobo should be beeping, but it wasnt.

Is my mobo tko'd? How could of it been damaged?

Your board won't beep unless you have a case speaker attached to the motherboard. You can get one for a couple of bucks at radio shack. My own case didn't come with one either.
