Question Is it normal for the powers supply fan not spin when pc is on full load?

Hi. Recently I noticed that the fan of my 800W power supply doesn't spin (it spins just for a few seconds when the pc boots and does not spin anymore). I read somewhere that the fan only kicks in when the pc is on heavy load. I guess that a i7 2700K (overclocked at 4.3 ghz) 3 fans and a water cooler aren't enough to make the PSU hot? (Graphics card is a small 1050ti with no additional power required beside the one it gets from the PCI-e slot).

This only applies to Power supplies with the relevant fanless feature. What is your make and model PSU exactly?

My PSU is the Corsair GS800. And you are right, it has a 0 Zero rpm fan mode according to their website. Do you have any idea how can I check if this is why the fan is not spinning or something is not okay? Thanks!

Ah they have completely discontinued that line now. But yes it does indeed have Zero RPM mode, which means the fan speed is dynamic, and won't start up until needed, which is a beneficial feature on PSUs.

Nothing to worry about in your case if it's not spinning at low loads.
