Hi!

I have some issues with my Powercolor Radeon x850xt.
I bought it two months ago and it worked fine until last week.

* Computer freezes during gameplay and testing with 3dmark05.

* I have monitored the temperature on my graphic-card when it hangs.
It hasn't been higher than 60 Celsius.

* When I do the artifact scanning with ATI Tools, I get artifacts after just 30-40 seconds. Temperature at that time not higher than 60 Celsius.

* If I don't turn of artifact scanning after the first beeps, the computer freezes and I get a bluescreen complaining about ati2dvag that is stuck in a loop.

* I have removed all ATI-stuff with Driver cleaner and reinastalled. The problem persist.

* 14 hours of memtest without any error.

* CPU temp, remains at about 50 Celsius during graphic card-testing.

* Have tried with both Catalyst 6.3 installed and uninstalled.

All help appreciated.

Well, if you bought it two months ago, I'd recon that you still have a warantee. Looking at your detailed disection of the problem, I'd venture so far as to say that the GPU might be buggered. If possible, return under warantee providing that you never altered the card ofcourse.

Alternatively, sum1 on the forums MIGHT help. But if the card is only two months old, then it is worrysome, and a return is the best bet.

Also, gcards do die. I have had 3 generations of ATi cards (4 cards) based on different makes, and only one failed on me since. It happens. As long as it's in the guarantee window, then all is a-okay. This also increases the demand for good warantees.

Yes, I will send it back to the store. I just don't want them to test the card, say it's nothing wrong, send it back and charge me a lot of money.

Unfortunately I don't have the possibility to test the card in another computer.
