Question Is it safe to remove an extra hdd

I’m about to buy a new ssd cause my current hdd is getting old and I’m planning to remove it and I wanna know is it safe to just take the sata cable and power cable out. The harddrive was a secondary one that I just put other games and applications on so it didn’t clutter my main ssd with my OS on it.

Depends, how it is set up.
Applications/games (installed on the HDD) will become unavailable.

Power down your pc before disconnecting any cables.
