Discussion Is it short circuit ? Saw that after opening the laptop for the first time to upgrade the RAM in an extra empty slot.

To me, that looks like adhesive residue from a sticker. You might want to take some isopropyl alcohol, a q-tip and see if that build up comes off.

To answer the question in your thread's title, it's not a short circuit...well you won't see a short circuit show up like that.
