I have a laptop which has a 256 gb ssd on it and it has a free msata slot. I was wondering if it is worth it to replace the SSD with an HDD and add an msata ssd? And would it make the laptop slower?
What specific drive is in it now?
If a SATA SSD, an mSATA is no 'slower'.
But whatever lives on an HDD will be read at HDD speed.
I would just get a bigger SSD.Right now it has a SATA SSD. So if it will be read at hdd speed maybe in case i need more storage its more worth it to buy a bigger SSD than have an HDD just for storage no?
