Hi,

What's inside my PC (Built in 2012):

Motherboard: ASUS P8-Z77-V Deluxe
CPU: Intel 3770k 3.50GHz (Stock Cooler and HyperThreading is off)
GPU: ASUS GTX 970 4GB STRIX
RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz
Storage: 1x120GB Corsair SSD Force Series 3 + 1x240GB Corsair SSD Force Series 3
PSU: 1000w HX Corsair Silver Certified
Case: CM Storm Trooper.

I bought an ASUS GTX 970 STRIX Edition today, and I immediately went and tested it in Unigine's Heaven Benchmark.

This is the result (you dont have to comment on the quality):

My question is, is this okay for this card? I tried to google it, but there were no systems that were close to mine, so I wouldnt really compare it to theirs.

Ok just did it. could not work out how to snip whilst in full mode but saved the result and then snipped it. This was done on Ultra with Tessellation at moderate. I use a Samsung LED TV at 1920x1080p..

Why dont you just take the ordinary extreme preset, snip it and send it. Then take the extreme preset, but with 1920x1080 and fullscreen? Those are the most common benchmarks.

In Snipping Tool you can do so you can make a rectangular snip, so after the benchmark, you save it is a HTML file and then open up the file and then snip it.

OK will do, as you can see, I am new to all of this but enjoying it...

No problem :)

Just to help clear this up I did 3 different tests with three different clock speeds. All are running 1080p, ultra detail, and extreme tessellation.

1st one (tried to get stock gtx 970 speeds, or close to them)

1238mhz running clock speed
1753mhz memory clock

FPS: 51.3
Score: 1293

2nd one (stock gigabyte g1 gaming speeds)

1367mhz running clock speed
1753mhz memory clock

FPS: 53.9
Score: 1359

3rd one (overclocked speeds)

1567mhz running clock speed
2003mhz memory clock

FPS: 62.2
Score: 1567

seems like you have yourself a good card! I've been trying to get over that last score but I just cant seem to get there 😉
my core clock and memory clock both clocked a bit higher then your settings, but I just didnt reach it.

FPS: 62.0
Score: 1561

core clock 1571MHz
mem clock: 1935MHz (went a bit overboard here)

Still you have a great overclock and I'm sure in games it shows. Heaven doesn't seem to do these cards justice. a lot of 780's can reach that score, but the 970 still wins in actual games. I tend not to give these benchmarks too much attention.

well I'm going to clock my clock speed down again to 1500ish MHz. I hit the 110% power consumption mark with these setitngs.

and indeed, benchamrk are a good way to get an idea... but I've seen that those statistics aswell where the 780 is suposedly doing better. may also be a driver issue. give it a few months and we'll see some better results.

Ya hopefully we will. But in game its performing near 780ti performance especially with a nice overclock. If more mature drivers push performance farther, it could pass the 780ti which would be fantastic.

Here's my OC'ed 780's score.

You guys can pull more out of those 970's with a good OC.

I realize this is old but I have the same question about my heaven score. I got 1264 score with Extreme HD full screen at 1920x1200. The extra pixels of the 1920x1200 over 1080p would cost me around 100 points you would think right? Is this the proper score for my GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0 with i7 4770?

that is tested with clocked 3770k and 2400mhz ram. you have nothing to worry about, i got only 3 more fps than you and i have 4770k

And after a little bit of overclocking, I got this bad boy.

clocks are 1265mhz, boost clock of 1417mhz. Memory is at 2003mhz and power limit was set to 105%. the Heaven test was done at 1920x1080 with all settings set to max.

And with even more tweaking, I squeezed this out. I'm pretty much maxed out at this point on both clock and memory. 1452mhz on the core and 2053mhz on memory.
