[SOLVED] Is my Hard Drive Broken?

Sometimes my hard drive isn't detected sometimes it is, but most of the time it isn't. I don't hear any clicking noise or anything.

Really Appreciate it if someone helps me

What make/model drive?

I'd love to but, the pc can't boot into windows as it can't detect the hard drive + my place is in community quarantine as covid is still rampant here, so I can't test it out on another pc.

But, I've ordered another sata cable online, which hopefully come soon.

There are 2 cables, you have to check.
Sata data cable and sata power cable.

Do you not know model name of your drive? Should be printed on label on the drive.

It's a seagate barracuda 500gb 7200rpm

The sata power cable is good as the psu is brandnew

Is that the only drive in the pc?
Seagate barracudas ar all SMR drives. Terrible choice for having windows on it.

You should get an SSD for your pc.

I'm waiting for christmas to buy an ssd, but is this hard drive dead?

If you check cables and those are ok, then this leaves bad drive.

Could be also bad PSU.
