It's this simple, you buy an x7200 because.... you need more portability than a desktop can offer and more grunt than a laptop can offer. Lets face most laptops are average when it comes to grunt! The x7200 is the middle ground between both worlds. I have my x7200 for desk to desk business trip portability and 3G iPad for super portability. The x7200 is awesome!

not very impressive.
Dell makes those laptops for many years now and especially you can add/remove anything you want.
from 980x till dual FirePro Cards.
dell has the definition for workstation laptops.

My first laptop looked like this, obviously this is meant as a desktop replacement rather than intended to be properly mobile. It's a lot easier moving something like this from apartment to apartment and maybe occasionally taking it to school or a friend's house, compared to a desktop. Which is all some people need, as oppose to being able to use it on the move.

[citation][nom]waleedmaroof[/nom]it is useless to have 2 gtx480 like such powerful in a notebook[/citation]Useless why? This is the gaming configuration of a workstation-class notebook, and 2x GTX 480M performs about equal to 1x GTX 460 desktop card.[citation][nom]jassim[/nom]the screen should be 1920X1200 @ least if not why not single card it will be better for heat and power[/citation]Read my response above, would 1x GTX 460 desktop card be too much performance for a single 1080p desktop monitor?

The Clevo X7200 has KNOWN thermal and power problems when used in the configuration tested here. Some negative reviews have been posted recently that have since been pulled down for some reason. Anyone interesting in this machine should steer clear, no matter what this review says. Check Anand's review of the X7200 to see how the thermal issues affected performance and stability.

This is the type of laptop I would get at my company just so people know its application. We have development team that needs portable desktops. Our rev cycle is about 3 years so we look at getting the more expensive laptops such as this. Last cycle was a 17" XPS with dual 8700m GTs. I'm waiting on the 485m GTXs with the new Sandy Bridge proc's but a Malibal it will be. These things are sick!
