My monitor has no speakers. It does however have the 2.5 audio input. What i want to do is run my pc speakers into a female 2.5 which then splits off into 2 2.5 male adapters so i can put oen into the PC motherboard and one into the back fo the monitor, that way I dont have to keep switching the speaker wires from the pc to the PS3 depending on which i want to use (I am playing my PS3 through to my monitor via an HDMI cord)

First of all, you're thinking about this in the wrong direction. The audio travels from your PC and PS3 to your speakers, so you need a simple set of double adapters. First of all, you're thinking about this in the wrong direction. The audio travels from your PC and PS3 to your speakers, so you need a simple set of double adapters. If you have 2.5mm jacks at the end of both sources, ie. the TV and the PC, then you can pick up 3 double adapters (2 x 2.5mm females to 1 x 2.5mm male) at a local electronics shop for a couple of bucks each. And the sound from which ever source you are using, will come out of your speakers.
But I'm assuming you're using 5.1 speakers. If you're not, the you just need two cables and one double adapter. 1. a 2.5mm male to male cable for your monitor to one of the females on the adapter and 2. a 2 x RCA female to 2.5mm jack cable for your PS3's AV left and right, to the other 2.5mm female of the adapter. Then plug the 2.5mm male of the adapter into your speaker input.
Hope this helps.
