Hello,

i had a pre built pc with Components that are not bad so i wanted to build a pc for a colleague using those components. As i've got done with everything except storage, i noticed that the power supply didn't have a single power cable except the CUSTOM power cable for the motherboard and also the 4 pin for the motherboard (really weird i know). Now because i can't get any other power supply because of the motherboard's custom power cable i thought i could ask here if there's a way to connect a HDD power cable or the HDD itself with having the same speeds as connected directly to motherboard.
I hope you understood the problem, my english is not so good.
Thank you

The other (data) cable doesn't carry power, so no. You're probably thinking about external (USB) hard drives that receive their power and data from the usb port/cable. You can get USB to SATA adapters that perform the same function without the enclosure and pass the cable through a hole in the back panel, but....that's pretty janky, and I wouldn't recommend that for a boot drive.
