I would like to know if these specs can be good for a gaming pc. I am really new at this and i want to build a good gaming pc that is preferably better than the ps4 specs and will last me a few years without upgrading anything. Also, the link is here:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7782889&sku=B69-1560

I am grateful for any additional info you guys could provide, for ex, how much will a pc cost minimally that will beat the ps4 or xbox720 specs and last about 1-3 years more with any new games on at least medium-high settings.

Solution
Hey, you could always start. 2 months ago, I didn't know a thing about computers. Now I'm a forum regular here. Buying my own build in 3 weeks, so I had to tweak to perfectness. Anyway, here's the final build, nothing changed.

I guess i can't get the 9970 now. I DUNNO WHAT TO GET!!!!

Why this gigabyte do not support overclocking?
I think this mobo + cpu can hit up to 4.6GHz. and GTX 760 can be OC'd to same level as the GTX 770. So.

Here are mobo + psu scores. http://extremespec.net/gigabyte-ga-b85-hd3-motherboard-review-design-testing-performance/3/
GIGABYTE-GA-B85-HD3-Review-26.png

And GTX 760 review. http://extremespec.net/zotac-geforce-gtx-760-review-design-testing-performance/3/

So this supports overclocking. Why do you guys do tell that it is not supporting overcklocling?

I'd use that, well, I'd use that motherboard, RAM, CPU and Wifi adapter, the rest is personal taste really. You don't need 950w of power, go for an 850w and get a higher 80+ rating like Gold.
http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1850bbefx

Well, i guess that the other parts are good and all. I also have them here with me. So yeah, i dont want to go through the hassle pf returning the PSU. Anyways, WHAT ABOUT THE MONITORS THAT I BOUGHT??? Like, seriously, they were the freaking highlight of this update. Anyways, also, since i now know that i will be multitasking, do i need hyperthreading? If so, which processor should i get? And which video card?

Because B series boards don't support overclocking. Where's the MB CPU-Z screen shot? A 4770k rarely makes it to 4.6 GHz on a Z series MB with the overclocking support. The B series boards don't have near the support for overclocking features the Z series have.

Anyone could overclock a chip, show a CPU-Z validation for the CPU and tell you it's some other board than what they used. You can click my CPU-Z link in my signature, and it shows you EVERYTHING. RAM, MB, CPU, GPU class...etc.

Here. http://extremespec.net/gigabyte-ga-b85-hd3-motherboard-review-design-testing-performance/3/

Hyperthreading doesn't do much if anything for multitasking, it's more for programs that need more CPU like encrypting data and rendering videos, if you're really worried about multitasking (And by multitasking I mean 2 different games open with fraps recording and 20 tabs on your browser open at the same time) get an FX-8350.

But realistically just get a 4670k and be happy with it, yes you could get slightly better OC with a 3570k, and better multitasking with a 8350, you wont have a problem with any of them as they are all very good, it's just us sad people on forums that like to argue over trivial differences for no reason.

I guess we just have to take their word for it. 😉

So... wassup? What do you think? I got the R4 for a reasonsable price and the 2 optical drives too.

Looks really good.

You have really big psu. <3

Really expensive build.. ^^ I did buy my 6 core intel just 100 more.. But € price so its bit more?
Too sleeppy.. Here clock 8.45 morning! ;D Need some coffee.. :)
Btw. Look this bechmarks before buy GTX 770 to sli. 760 are really fast in sli :)
Hope you get your build soon working :) Good luck :)
Sure I did forget the bechnarks ;D

My psclock war wrong time.. Time is about 4.30.. Must update it :)

That's what she said 😉

Well I'm no knowledge base on Haswell or the LGA1150 socket but that looks like a fairly nice build.
It is pretty expensive...I've had people saying I payed way to much for my build with a R4E 2011 socket and an IB-E 4930K and I didn't pay much more than you will for this build.

We'll have to wait and see the benchmarks for AMDs new cards, and also the pricing. Other than that it looks good.

kick ass system.. would be good for almost 5 years.. before a major upgrade

Should be about $400 for R9-290 and should be about $500-550 for R9-290X if it launches at same price the HD 7970 launched at.

That matches up entirely with what I have heard through the grapevine.

Not sure about this new line up, looks like they've spent more on the fancy refereance cooler (Which looks awesome IMO) than they did on improving performance.

OCUK admin, Gibbo:

"Also those are you thinking about the new cards, well this is what is happening:-

R270 is HD 7950 re-boxed and these shall be reference design in beginning and prices from £170 region, so same as our lowest price 7950′s. So OcUK is already at the new price, the newly boxed R270′s will arrive middle-end October.

R280X is the HD 7970 GHz re-boxed and these shall be reference design in beginning and prices shall be around £230 region, so same again as our lowest priced 7970′s. This makes our current Asus 7970′s a bargain as they are TOP and Platinum cards, the equivalent of these in R280 X shall be in the £250-£300 region and available in their R280 X packaging around end of October.

R290 X unfortunately I cannot release pricing or specification info yet, but price wise its similar to GTX 780 but slightly faster, right now, of course AMD could change the launch price at any time. :)

I’ve checked my details more closesly:-

R270X is a cripped HD 7950, 2GB and 256-bit reduced from 3GB and 384-Bit. R270X will be £155-£175, whereas were selling the faster HD 7950 for £170ish, they should be £200+ and are now EOL, so a deal whilst they last. When they are gone, that is it just like the 670 deals. Don’t miss out. Think HD 7950 GPU on a 7870 PCB/RAM config.

R280X is a HD 7970 equivalent, a little slower than a GHz model, pricing around £229-£249, so again our HD 7970 deals are excellent as they are super overclock uprated models for a similar price, again these should be £300+ and are also EOL, once gone that is it. This is a HD 7970 re-boxed/re-branded.

R290 and R290X are the only cards faster than a HD 7970GHz by quite a bit. But HD 7990 is still performance King and at our current prices is also cheaper than an R290 X. :)"

So AMD have just renamed all of their GPUs and sell them at the same price (7970 > R9 280X. HD 7950 > R9 280. HD 7870 LE/XT > R9 270X), and added a rather fast GPU as he top of the line.

Unlike what nVidia did which was rename their GPUs and sell them at a lower price. So the 680 became a 770 and then it was sold at 670 prices.

But if you're going with the R9 290(x), that thing is insane.

You currently cannot buy a GTX 770 for less than a HD 7970 GHz.

How is NVidia selling a GTX 770 @ GTX 670 prices?

Additionally, the R9-270X is like an overclocked HD 7950.

The R9-280 is like a HD 7970 GHz, and the R9-280X is an overclocked HD 7970 GHz.

Then you have the R9-290X which is faster than the Titan.

NVidia did exactly this same thing with their GPUs and raised prices...AMD is keeping their prices where the last gen cards were...

GTX 670 launch price $399
GTX 770 launch price $399
GTX 680 launch price $499
Source: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6994/nvidia-geforce-gtx-770-review

And yet the GTX 770 is just a GTX 680.

Show me a GTX 770 for less than $450 right now...

Also:

HD 7970 GHz launch price $499-549

R9-290X launch price $499-549

HD 7950 launch price $399

R9-280X (HD 7970 GHz OC'ed) launch price $399

HD 7870 launch price $299

R9-270X (HD 7950 OC'ed)launch price $299

See a trend there...? They did the EXACT same thing...BOTH OF THEM.

Then they dropped prices recently...because the 780 was $600/ea. and the 770 was $500/ea.
