I would like to know if these specs can be good for a gaming pc. I am really new at this and i want to build a good gaming pc that is preferably better than the ps4 specs and will last me a few years without upgrading anything. Also, the link is here:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7782889&sku=B69-1560

I am grateful for any additional info you guys could provide, for ex, how much will a pc cost minimally that will beat the ps4 or xbox720 specs and last about 1-3 years more with any new games on at least medium-high settings.

Solution
Hey, you could always start. 2 months ago, I didn't know a thing about computers. Now I'm a forum regular here. Buying my own build in 3 weeks, so I had to tweak to perfectness. Anyway, here's the final build, nothing changed.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.99 @ Microcenter)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($134.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Patriot Gamer 2 Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($47.98 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Samsung...
On the subject of video cards, now the benchmarks are out, if I were you I'd get a R9 280x, most likely a MSI or Asus as they have the best coolers.

The TekSyndicate videos are legit.

Dr. Paul Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's Propaganda Minister once said:
"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."
Just because everyone says Intel's i5 is 100,000,000% faster than AMDs FX-8350 doesn't mean it's true.

You guys can look here the test results.
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/697?vs=701

Or here.
http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-4670K-vs-AMD-FX-8350

Test results can be bit tricky. Last one tells that intel value is better? :)

But it is really good to look how competition goes and what makes better test results.

lots of results are based on old price tags.
What do you guys figure out this?
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+FX-8350+Eight-Core&id=1780

And what this?
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Xeon+E3-1230+V2+%40+3.30GHz

And why Xeon 1230V3 is 0 price?
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Xeon+E3-1230+v3+%40+3.30GHz&id=1942

Did see one test result where was AMD cpu. It did work better whe it was OC to 4.5GHz I think it was one or two FPS faster than ot OC one. But low FPS did jump up about 10 FPS. So maybe it do no give faster FPS but can reduce the FPS drops.

+1

Although, to add to that point, the FX-8350 isn't too much better than the i5, both will give roughly the same experience, if I were to show you a game, twice, one on a i5 and the other on the FX-8350, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Exactly what I have been saying all along.

Well, i do agree that i wont be able to feel the difference between the two, so here it is. I still don't know about the GPU, though...
Its a very tough choice. I'm aiming for minimal buyer's remorse. I need opinions with supporting values. Help, please. It's almost finished.

Is this really too much for MoBo + CPU?
Did you need SLI support? No. If you use R 9 280 or 7970 etc.

And bit cheaper Xeon + cheap but good B75 MoBo.

Amd is not so cheap now is it? Now you can have i7 same price as the 8350 😀
Only thing is that i7 name is xeon :)

But, you can't overclock that Xeon...and he gets more SATA3 ports and USB 3.0 ports on the AMD board.

Why you can't? Just add more baceclock! Sure you can not OC much but sure you can.. But must remember 8350 can not OC anything but AMD? 😀
They are so good ^^ ? I bet he can not OC any intel because he is AMD fanboy 😀 I know this for 100% sure thing. Intel Z-77 mobo did OC all cpu after bios update. It did not matter eas there k or NOT. All Z-77 MoBos did have that.. So why can you not OC? 😀 Maybe just need Z-77 mobo to do just that :)

Now, I forget who it was, I think it was on TechPowerUp's forums, but what they said was "The world of computers moves so fast, and changes so often, look at benchmarks, pick the part you want, and never look back, because no matter what you buy, you could have waited a month and got a better deal."

I'm paraphrasing but you get the idea, no matter what you buy, next month something new will come out that's faster and cheaper, so you can wait as long as you want to buy a part, and if you would have just waited another month you could have got something better.

Never look back, have no remorse.

That's entirely true, I spent $250 on my HD 7870XT (a bargain at the time too), and now I can buy a HD 7950 for $200 if I wanted.

And if you were to buy a 7950 right now, in a couple of mouths you could have got a 7970 for the same price.

So, should i not buy the R9-290? The 280X is a good bargain, and i am very likely to get it too. I get the principle for the future-proofing thing. Still, i don't regret getting ay of the parts i did so far and i dont want it to be the same for the gpu, whether if i think that its overkill or if i think that its not enough.

Everything except for the GPU has been shipped or recieved already

I don't know, what should i buy for the GPU?

Not much future proof in your system. i think you bought into a dead platform. what happen to getting a GTX 780? The 770 is a bad value compared to the 280X. You might wanna wait on the 290 if you want fresh chip.

Edit: I would buy a overclocked 280X. just seen the listings on newegg. I wonder when they be released officially. I know the NDA has ended .

The PCPartPicker community would pick your build alive. High wattage PSU with a motherboard with no SLI/Crossfie support. I wouldnt Crossfire or SLI on AMD build anyway. Crossfire sucks. Intel/Nvidia for the win.

That seems more fanboy-ish than advisable to me. The build and i are well acquainted with the pcpartpicker community. The 780 became a pipe dream when almost everybody on here told me i didnt need on and better cards were rumoured. I got the high wattage psu for the same price of a low wattage one. I might get a 280X or a 290. That depends on whether the price of a 290 is $400.

*Cough* Fanboy *Cough*, it's a good thing we're not on PcPartPicker, we're in a place of logic.

Oh, Spy, the only thing I would change is that motherboard, I would have gone with a M5A990FX.

Im not a fanboy i just go with what works. i like AMD graphics card and own a couple of them. The fact remains it takes 8 core AMD CPU to take on a quad core Intel. i got my power supply like you did a a decent wattage for the same price as a low wattage.

Looking at it, i didnt really need the mobo features, so i went with the entry level one. I did check some reviews though, to make sure i made a good choice.

The Intel/Nvidia for the win phrase seemed fanboy-ish, IMO. Just saying. Still, i won't notice the difference between the i5 and the 8350, so that's all good for me. This is me giving AMD a second chance.

Okay =P

And if yo do decide to stream it will do a lot better.

Oh, for the graphics, if your going to get a R9 280x, have a look and see if there's any HD 7970 on sale, they're basically the same card, so get which ever one is cheaper.

This HD 7970 is on NCIX.ca for $290 right now.

According to BF4 beta, the 8 core AMD beats the 4 core i5's and runs a tight race with i7's and HTT.

Just saying...try to be more objective. AMD is a lot better than most people give them credit for.

I wish there was a good AM3+ ITX board.

Yes, me too...mATX is not the same...
