I am going to upgrade my current router, which is a ZTE ZXDL 931VII. and I'd like to purchase this one: Netgear WNR1000. However, since I have a vdsl internet connection, I'd like to know if the router I intend to purchase will support this type of connection. In case it's not compatible, then could you suggest me a compatible one at a price range of 30-45 euros? Netgear or TP-Link

Solution
Yup, that's it.

20dB of attenuation is a fair bit - more than Chorus here in NZ would allow for a new VDSL install. How far are you from the exchange/cabinet?

You may have a line fault either in the house, or in the ISP's gear.

Could you suggest me a modem-router that supports VDSL and would be a real upgrade to my current modem-router?

My current internet speed is about 20mbps. With the same router (ZXDSL 931VII) three or four months ago my speed was about 24-25mbps, sometimes even faster than than. I pay for a 30mbps VDSL internet connection. So yes, I woud like to improve my speed, is there any procedure I could follow in order to identify a potential problem in my router settings?

I don't know though if this is what you're asking for.

I think I'm less than 3km away from the cabinet. Do you think I should contact my ISP for further information?

1.3 km or about 4,500ft is the max distance I like to install vdsl. It's supposed to work at 5,000ft on a single pair, but it's gets real shoddy at that distance. If your 3km is right at 10k feet. Unless the gear there is far superior to what we have here.
