typical israeli response, having spent quite a bit of time in the West Bank its the typical response i'd expect from the israeli military and border police (who are usally in my experience far more trigger happy)!

shoot first, ask q's later...that's the de facto...explains the disproportionatly high # of civilian casualties on the palestinian side...

[citation][nom]gendoikari1[/nom]Wouldn't just running the luggage through a metal detector instead of pumping it full of lead be a better option?[/citation]

If there's an unattended bag lying around somewhere, and you suspect that it could contain explosives (and in Israel you would, for good reasons), carrying it to an x-ray machine is a risky and stupid idea. A metal detector will only tell you there's metal in there somewhere, useful for checking on a person for guns or knives, not on a bag.

Leaving a bag containing a laptop unattended is stupid anyway because someone might steal it. She may have misunderstood when she thought she was supposed to leave it there.

[citation][nom]fwupow[/nom]What a wonderful world! How anyone can actually look at the state of human existence on this planet and then turn around and ridicule others for turning to religion and God in a hope for something better is beyond me.[/citation]

Not to offend any peaceful religious people out there of any religion, isn't turning to god and religion what got us into this mess in the first place?

I'm waiting to see a commercial where a computer maker touts their steel chasis as bulletproof, unlike the Mac. Maybe a modern take on the old Samsonite luggage commercials?

Overheard at Israeli MacStore:

“…Now with the new mac book pro you can touch and drag the bullet holes to anywhere on the screen and with our pinch feature you can magnify or reduce the size of the holes to suit your needs for an almost endless variety to customizing your display and case.…”

If it was so important, why did she leave it laying around while she cruised outside? I'm guessing this trip was longer than 30 seconds. Probably outside talking on the phone for half an hour....

What….all my client case notes and testimony, writing, pictures, music and applications. Years of work. NO!!!! What?? Are you insane?? What were you thinking? THAT’S ALL MY WORK!?

What?? Are you insane?? You never back up??? What were you thinking? Macs need to have data back-ups too...
