Question Issues with computer after a power surge ?

My computer indicates the CPU is at fault after a power surge in the house. Randomly it will turn on and allow me into the BIOS to reconfigure its settings, but after I do that and rebooting to save the settings it goes into an endless power cycle. When I force reset, it just shows the red CPU debug LED and yet to boot again.

I’ve also checked voltages in the BIOS when I could and they seemed okay, and I’m at a loss for what to do next.

Unless you have some hardware on hand to check individual parts in and a bit of knowledge about swapping said it is probably best to consider local troubleshooting/repair. I tend to recommend looking for mom and pop shops that have been in business a while with good reviews before using such as Geek Squad. Mostly due to pricing and some due to corporate silliness with the larger firms.

Full system specs, including PSU make and model (or part number) is? Also, how old the PSU is, and was the PSU bought new or used/refurbished?

But based on symptoms, power surge killed something. PSU would be 1st one i'd replace, since proper PSU will not let the damage through, to damage rest of the components.
But as it stands, CPU or MoBo (or both of them) could be faulty.

Moving forwards, best to get proper UPS to protect your PC against surges, brownouts and blackouts. And by proper, i mean true/pure sine wave, line-interactive UPS.
I can talk more about UPSes, but first answer what I initially asked.

Low quality PSU. Tier C.

For proper PSU for gaming rig, Tier A is proper. Like: Seasonic Focus/Vertex/PRIME, Corsair RMx/RMi/HXi/AXi, Super Flower Leadex Gold/Platinum/Titanium.
PSU tier list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...JWkc/edit?pli=1&gid=1973454078#gid=1973454078

Tier A- will do too, while Tier A+ is preferred.
(My 3x PCs are solely powered by Tier A PSUs. Namely, i have Seasonic PRIME 650 Titanium (Tier A+), Seasonic PRIME Ultra 650 Titanium (Tier A+) and Seasonic Focus PX-550 (Tier A). Full specs with pics in my sig.)

So, new PSU is a must. And depending on whatever else has failed.
Possible suspects are MoBo and/or CPU. To know which one exactly, haul PC to PC repair shop and pay for diagnostics. Since to find it out, 2nd, compatible PC is needed, to test out components individually.

As far as the UPS goes and as i said, true/pure sine wave, line-interactive topology UPS does fine.
Here are 4x CyberPower UPSes, who all meet that, in different capacity,
pcpp: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/thqbt6,g6X2FT,qvVBD3,VxYWGX/

The bigger the capacity - the longer the UPS can keep the PC running. Since your PSU is 850W, UPS capacity at that mark would suffice. But you can get by with 600W UPS as well. Just, runtime isn't that long.

Btw, i too have CyberPower UPSes in use: CP1300EPFCLCD (1300VA/780W), one UPS per one desktop PC.

Three possible configurations:
1. Low quality PSU. With surge = PSU dead + other components dead (as you just had happen).
2. Good quality PSU. With surge = PSU dead.
3. Good quality PSU + UPS. With surge = UPS catches it, protecting itself, PSU and the rest of the PC, with no component failure. Also protects against blackouts.
