Hello i've managed to bend a cpu socket due to an incorrectly mounted cooler backplate
Now from my 32gb of ram only 8gb works
I've made a mistake by buying 1 Ballistix RAM 2x8GB 3200MHz kit and a Ballistix RAM 2x8GB 3000MHz so with different frequencies
The pc DOES work

I've tried:
Resetting cmos
reseating the ram
changing the positions of the ram
booting with only one stick (worked)
flashing bios
repasting the cpu
untightening cooler screws

specs:
i9-11900k
rx 7600 gigabyte version
b560m aorus pro ax
32gb ballistix ram
rm850w corsair

just so you know the ram DID work in this combination (for at least a year)

Is there any light of hope for me ?

In all honesty, you're wasting time speculating. Include images as my colleague above has asked for(as we all do by the way) and perhaps we can spot something you didn't.

I don't think its visible enough since the pc works
+
Are there any solutions
If there's no problem...then there's no solution.

How come my ram doesn't work anymore if there is no problem if it used to work
Should i take the cooler of right now just so i cant take a picture or even take out the cpu ?
I'm typing the response on the computer right now so It would be a lot of work...
I could do it later

Sorry english isnt my first language
The ram does work but only if i have one plugged in
One ram stick works in either 1A or 1B if thats how you name them
(the two ram slots closest to the cpu)
The problem appeared after i installed the cpu cooler incorrectly
onece i did it correctly the pc started to work but only

In that case you've probably damaged the CPU socket pins associated with IMC Channel 2. It can be difficult to see bent pins in the socket because they are very small. Are you sure it's OK in 1A and 1B? That would imply both memory channels are working.

There are two Integrated Memory Controller channels in the CPU.

Channel A is connected to DIMM sockets A1 and A2.

Channel B is connected to DIMM sockets B1 and B2.

(I think that's right)

Do you think a new socket retainer could fix it ?
Without a picture of the damage, it's impossible to say. Remove the cooler. Remove the CPU. Photograph both sides of the mobo with a camera set to Macro mode and post the images.

If you've thoroughly mangled the CPU socket itself, you can't replace it unless you're a skilled technician with all the necessary hot air tools and an ESD workstation. Even then I wouldn't rate your chances of success very high.

Many times, the only fix for a badly damaged CPU socket is to buy a new motherboard.

If you try to RMA the board, the dealer may decide obvious user-damage is not covered by the warranty. If you buy a new car and crash into a fire hydrant, would you expect the dealer to pay for the damage?

Either live with a single IMC or buy a new board.

I am thankful for your response and im sorry if i was mean or anything something happened because its my name day but thats irrelevant

Once I find the time for it(probably on the weekend) I'll attempt to try out the ram one more time
Each and every one... once i confirm there are two slots working or not I'll take off the cooler and look for any bent pins and even if i dont find any I'll take a photo and post it here
And i might try out the ram one more time just to check
Something inside of me tells me that It could be the ram even though its very not likely but since the ram worked in 2 slots last time i tried i still have some hope

One question... Do i HAVE to repaste the cpu after i take the cpu cooler off?
because everytime i did so and now i dont have any thermal paste left

thank you for your response

One correction
The slots that worked were A1 and A2
thats why you were confused
I had to look it up
I wasnt saying it correctly
I'll try to put the ram sticks into A1 and A2 and try to run them in signle channel mode in order to get atleast 16 gb
That way i wouldnt have to buy a new motherboard because 16 gb is enough

Thank you for reassuring me
