[SOLVED] Just got new ssd switched from mechanical to 860 evo

I have a ryzen 5 2400g, b450 mobo 16gb ddr 4,750watt PSU

I did a fresh install of windows on the now it freezes after 3-5 minutes i switched back to the mechanical and the pc runs just fine. The only thing i switched was the hard drive any ideas why its freezing id like to use my new SSD

Try installing Windows on the SSD with all drives disconnected but the SSD.

How did you do this install?
Was the HDD still connected when you did it?

I installed the ssd alone with nothing else in the computer harddrive wise, apparently amd has issues with samsung ssds

Ive done multie clean wipes of the ssd and fresh installs nothing fixes it 5-10 mins and the pc freezes

Then the only thing I can think of is a defective drive.
Rare, but it happens.

Might want to try a different sata cable.

Another thing. After you install to your ssd without the old drive connected, does windows work fine until you add in the second drive?

I'd also check a diff sata port. Not just any port. A lot of motherboards have multiple sata connectors, but some are on a separate controller. Idea here is to get it on a different controller.

Sometimes they are colored diff to help.

Also before installing, do you have the drive set as ahci in the bios?
