So, my system just shuts off. Randomly. No BSOD. No freezing. No particular time. Windows 7 (64-bit) doesn't crash in safe mode, and I've been running Prime95 for the past 3 hours with no problem. I tried installing Fedora 16, but it shuts off during install. Same with the Windows 7 disc. I changed out processors, and windows went all twitchy. If the cpu is bad, would windows boot into safe mode running prime95? Would bad RAM cause this? I ran chkdsk /r and it reported no errors. I also uninstalled the realtek audio drivers and rebooted, still crashed. I then tried the latest version. Any other suggestions? Please help.

It's possible that something is overheating and windows is auto shutting down to prevent hardware damage.
Download a probe like speedfan and see what's going on while the PC is running.

I can't even run windows in normal mode long enough to do anything like that. I don't think it's a heating issue since it was only on for a short period of time before it crashed.
