Anyway, it looks like the reviews on the GTX 690 are pretty much superlative:

Guru3d
"FRACK what a beast of a graphics card the GeForce GTX 690 really is"
"the overall gaming performance is breathtaking -- shocking -- jawbreaking."

HardOCP
"This is the "most perfect" dual-GPU video card we've ever experienced."

TechPowerUp
"NVIDIA created something special"
"In 2560x1600 it is actually the most efficient graphics card we ever tested!"

Benchmark Reviews
"the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 has dramatically surpassed all graphics cards on the market and could be the top contender for much longer than we expect."

Hardware Canucks
"the GTX 690 is the pinnacle of uncompromising graphics card design. It delivers unheard of performance and stretches our expectations of what’s possible in the GPU market."

Hardware Heaven
"the GTX 690 is the best graphics card ever made."

Legit Reviews
"the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 easily becomes the fastest gaming graphics card that we have ever tested. It is also one of the better looking cards that we have ever used as well."

Overclockers Club
"To say that I was impressed with what the GTX 690 has to offer would be an understatement."

Etc., etc.

So it is not just me who wants to lick the metal?
not at all, i am guilty of having *those type* of thoughts. i have not liked the cheap looking plastic on high end cards.
the black fan shroud, those heat pipes, the radiators and silver cover . . .wow.

In other words - A Daedric Artifact!

I always agree with this statement and never consider dual gpu cards but I'm waiting for techreports review so I can see if it's true with this card.

But still bottom line, you can't help but feel it's cheating.

 that's if you've got the staff of banishing or wabbajack.

seen this in my FB newsfeed.

Just posted an hour ago...early 670 preview/benchmark....looks pretty close to 680 and as suspected, only missing 1/8 of the cores and a little clock speed.

http://wccftech.com/nvidias-gtx-670-previewed-benchmarked-early-launch/

I calculate between 90 and 99% (mostly 92-93) of the framerates of the 680 based on the tables....but that seems weird with only 87.5% of the cores AND a lower clock speed. meh....guess we'll have to wait another week to know for sure

EDIT: That article was a summary of a tweaktown article. Here's the source article:

Beats the 7970 in many games. AMD has a problem...

Awesome. This gives me high hopes for the 660 ti. And if AMD has to cut prices again the 7800 series will be affected this time. Let's hope Nvidia doesn't have the same quantity issues they did with the 680.

Yea just saw the tweak town preview for my self. Go check it out guys, since their not under NDA, they are allowed to have a benchmark up for it. I am buying 1 day one, even if i have to camp newegg shopping cart

According to those benchmarks and the likely price of $400, there will be no reason to get a 7970 or 7950. I wonder, if history repeats, that the price will be closer to $450... just because that's where it fits versus the competition (until AMD lowers prices yet again).

By the way, Tweak Town took down the charts, but the previous wccftech link still has them.
