Why is everyone crying about GK 104 shortages if all these manfactures are holding them and tinkering with them. I think they release 5 on newegg ever few days is because they want the card to be marketed and glorious so a bunch of zombie munching consumers are standing outside waiting for more.... If everyone would just NOT buy any Graphics cards for a while, stock would have to get better or otherwise its the partners or NVIDIA's fault for the actual supply. Not the consumers

If the price of this card will be around 400$ I think that would be the end for the HD 78xx and 79xx as this card imo is the best nvidia card ever simply
-GTX 670 is nearly equal to GTX 680
-GTX 670 with 400$ price will be the cheapest card in the market for its performance
And with those benchmarks from Tweak town .... No need to buy GTX 680 u can make one for 100$ less and a simple overclocking

Wow, that hurts to see that. Was really wanting to wait to see what the GTX670 could do before I bought a card but yesterday I got a call saying that I can get my hands on a MSI twin Frozr 680 so I pulled the trigger... Trying hard not to have buyers regret.

This is pretty much the same argument I put forward for the stupid high prices. Just don't pay it, wait a couple of weeks and the prices will soon come down.

Your average consumer will always loose out though, as there are plenty of people out there who don't have to consider the price and can afford what they want, when they want.

So this is how it is and unfortunately we have to put up with it.

Mactronix :)

Maybe we should get those that have all the money to buy what their gonna buy now. ANd don't buy another single thing in the hardware for weeks.... I guarantee you, Companies will open up and see

ok, maybe i am reading too much into it but, why would the power consumption on a full load go down when overclocking with the same exact test set up?

the idle raises 13 watts but the load goes DOWN 3 watts.

Could just be a weird anomally. Just like the 680 can use less power than a 580 and a 7970 but is still just as hot..

Woah what? the 6990 uses less power than a 670 OC? hmm when did this happen?

If you look, in most cases, turbo does not do alot for minimum fps,, as thats when the gpu is being put to the test the most, only at high fps will it kick in and raise them.

Add OCing into the mix, and its a wash to a degree, where it may fall within testing error

Tweaktown seems to have some messed up charts... The power graph has quite a few cards in weird places and the 680 beats or equals the 7970 in every game, even in the games that other sites show the 7970 beating the 680.

Then we have the 670 performing within 10% of a 680, often around 5%, and sometimes matching it? Also the 670 is using more power than the 680?

I won't be returning it for sure. But how can a less powerful card be as good as a higher priced, more powerful one? Like, are there actual reliable benchmarks putting the 670 at the 680 levels?

Because clock speeds... the first benches i call red flag. but the second, when they clocked it to 1.2-1.4 ghz core.... a higher clock with less cores can beat a more cores with lower clock speed card

I haven't gotten a chance to look at the benchmarks really. So what they are showing is the 670 is only as good when you OC it. Which you can OC the 680 too...so no problem i guess.

I just thought from what some people were saying is that the 670 was going to only be like 2% slower compared to the 680, with both at stock speeds, all while costing $100 less. THEN I would have been PISSED.
