i agree. imo discreet gfx card is all they have in pc sector right now. their quadro and tesla gfx cards generate huge amount of revenue. one of the reasons i think gtx 680's compute perf sucks right now. they also lead in discreet gfx card market share.
amd and intel have been eating away at their entry level gfx biz. with intel's hd and amd's apus taking away low end sales, nvidia's kinda cornered. and when companies like nvidia gets cornered, they come out with well performing products.
besides, i haven't heard/read anything new about their 'project denver' in a looong time. don't know much about their tegra soc sales either but it looked like people were not that into them.

Roughly 50% of U.S. households own a gaming console and 80% of U.S. households own a computer - the rest is common sense.

Since most people already own a computer they aren't going to invest in a gaming console. People like my mother, will not play on a console but she has no problem playing Angry Birds on her Compaq Presario.

People are more attracted to the computer (PC, laptop or handheld device) due to the flexibility of them.

Exactly, and it does more than a Console!.

Its like: Hey look at me rolling up with my Limited Ed. 360 i can play this game and this game and thats about it.....

the pc player rolls up: check out my Dell Quad core that can max out all the games you consoles play...

Now the decision i gotta make is.....Which GTX 680 to get. EVGA is coming out with sooooo many... I just hope the pricing on the GTX 680 isnt gonna jump. Otherwise its wait for free shipping on a reference.......

Good to see Theo doing some goodness

The dynamics of PC gaming is changing, while the low end is gone, leaving fewer options for discrete, the balance, or overall size of the pie could rise, opening doors to increase the customer base.
GPGPU type cards arent alone, by themselves enough to drive a company towards that goal, as the discrete market is imperative it lasts and grows.
nVidia, making a flexable solution towards both DT and compute is forwards looking, but remember, big K will have all that compute included, and wont see the perf/mm we see in the 104

Are you saying on the Desktop side, they arent doing low end only Medium and High end?

Here's my rig:

Intel I7 860 @ 3.4ghz
8GB ram
750W PSU
6870 Crossfire

The question is: Should I sell my two 6870 now they're still worth some money to get one GTX 680 knowing it's more futureproof, or should I stick with my 6870 crossfire until they can't run any game?

Please answer me, the dilemma is tormenting me lol :na:

Well i am in the same boat at you, but i am getting a 680. I probably will only sell one of my 560 ti's if i even do sell them, because they are such banging cards. but one 680 will outperform and be more future proof for you!. plug with the i7 you will be fully ready for it!

What monitor set up do you have?

I have a regular 24 inches 1080p monitor. Nothing really fancy but it might change.

well the GTX 680 can handle 3 monitors for gaming, and a 4th monitor for Web Browsing. From what i have been reading and we all here have been discussing. the GTX's below the 680 arent gonna be much different. So its best to just go ahaed and buy this monster. Unless you want to wait and see what really comes out.. but the 680 will handle any upgrade you plan to do. whether it be 1080p or multimonitor or even a single 3d monitor setup

Thanks Amigo 😉

Glad you enjoyed it. I actually missed the live stream because i was at work... but i managed to find the whole stream in a video review from DAY ONE!.

Well maybe you should leave a comment about them "Improving for next time"

But as stated. This was streamed about the time Kepler NDA was lifted. Although NVIDIA can't comment on really any further info for kepler. so what you see here and more to come is what you get.

Out of that 80% that own a computer not many of them are gaming capable like yours and mine are many of them are just extremely basic Internet and word processing boxes and that about it but out of them 50% consoles most of them are the new Xbox of PS3 which are able to play all the latests games.

+1
