Some how I don't think seniority has anything to do with it LOL or knowledge for that matter ok.

people have been "paying more for parts" since the dawn of PC gaming.

parts are actually cheaper nowadays compare to let say pre 8800gt/4800s era when an almost $250 8600gts/2600XT card will only let you play games at medium. take into consideration inflation and people are actually getting big bang for the buck nowadays ($150 and up).

it's just that any sound financial adviser's cost benefit analysis will always favor the market with the highest potential ROI, which are consoles.

where do these people get these stats and numbers?

As i re-stated "the PC market has dropped and rise again" (People are always selling their machines, but one that sells his machine, another takes his place. So yes the whole market part will never die because there will always be a demand for Computer hardware as long as their is a software market.

I have hard back ground on my facts because i am a Student Majoring in Computer Programming and Hardware A+ Certification.

I also have a Interest in Technical Marketing. Just like JJ from ASUS does.

a hard background on facts starts with a resource pointing to something that supports your statement. not on the degree you're working on.

percent this percent that, i don't have anything against you but i've stayed here long enough and learned not to trust any statistical figure some dude just pulled out of thin air hence the statement i made.

i'm just correcting you on the part where you got the whole pc-gaming/hardware cylce construed.

pc gamers who've been dealing with hardwares the past decade will understand the fulfillment of paying $250 circa 2012 (skyrim) for a graphics cards to let's say a geforce 5600ultra 2003/2004 (doom3).

A+ is a joke based on 10year old+ hardware.

Yes well.....Hardware has changed since then. I wasn't trying to put my college degree's in to play of my knowledge of the Technical market. But i was simply stating. Someone with Experience and a college degree is more likely to get a JOB! these days than one that just says well uh...i have built a computer but i don't know about how the computer works...HUH?. Yea.

But also I know one thing a 5600 ultra probably wouldn't even handle skyrim at lows unless you were playing on a low end monitor..

Listen lasse, I know what i need to know. I know enough to help some one make a decision over what to buy. So before you go to picking at other people's statements to raise your self.... think before you act. I have every right to say that because i am obviously defending my self against people that like usual. Want me to look like the Dumb @$$. Obviously i have some knowledge and have helped a many of people and been here a while. Otherwise i wouldn't be a VETERAN now would i. But who's really counting by the ranks. As long as the client gets the help they need. I wouldn't care about anything else but my closest friends on toms hardware and thats all i am here. Not here to quaral with other members..... Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I know what the boundries are here so. i Speak on this matter no Further. Now lets get back to the real topic here.....

KEPLER

:pfff:
only if you last took and studied for it 10 years ago with hardware from 11 years ago...
quite different today.
and yes I have a few certs...
(A+, Net+, MCDST, DSCE)
Funny because the A+ test I wrote was mostly based on out of circulation Hardware and standards.

PC, please read my response at the bottom. If you continue, i will make a notion to have you removed from this topic. I don't want any trouble here. and also your comment on my education is none of your worry. its my life, my career. Its what i choose to do with it. If you think its a joke and waste then thats your issue. My focus is mine.

Well of course your gonna have to add the old stuff, but the way things are done now are included ahh....

Why are we even on this subject...if their something to win here?

Hush. Return back to kepler or i will have admins clean house..... :non:

I support this statement 100%. This may make me seem old, but I still remember springing $200 on a Voodoo back in the 90's just to be able to play Quake... though I was very young still, so don't judge me.

It seems strange to me the sheer number of GPU's on the market. When a typical person walks into a computer store to find themselves trying to decide between 20+ variants and adaptations of similar cards. The way the cards are marketed is even more cryptic to the average consumer. In my opinion, there needs to be a conjoining of the major manufacturers of these GPUs (Nvidia, AMD, Intel) to try and simplify this particular upgrade. When you think about how easy it is to go and purchase an Xbox360 or Wii versus what it takes to start gaming at a comparable level on PC, many people are left behind. Again, I'm referring to someone with rather limited experience in PC gaming, but being the importance of this particular component/upgrade to gaming, I feel like the easier it is for people to get into PC gaming, the more we all benefit. A little off the subject of this post, I know... I'll get off my soapbox.

Kepler suck

Yes Please.. A few of us majorly requested the Forum Moderators to re-open the Kepler discussion thread as there is still alot of things un answered so lets go back to original topic Please.

"re-open the Kepler discussion" Which one are you referring to ? was it the review of the 680 you are speaking of ?

If you don't like kepler. Why are you still in this thread. Please. This is a discussion table. I must say, if you are not going to contribute to the topic or have no interest in it. Why are you here?, to raise a few brownie points in the Circle of Argumentation?

No I screwed up the embedding of this video...

Just trying to lighten the mood [:russwood1488:7]

Harelys suck they were under engineered and inefficient hoe the 680 is not the same.

Before the GTX 680 released, there was a thread for Kepler discussion and Rumor data compilation. But now that its out. We decided we still wanted to be able to discuss it but since Kepler was released then, forum mod's thought that it was no longer a secret and didn't need to be discussed further. But a few did so here we are.........

OK here's my take on Kelper 680 and here goes "GTX 680 is FASTER" this is true but clock for clock the 7970 is faster.
