Last time it was the vias, or the solder points/areas.
Not sure what it is this time, but looking at my previous link, they may be finding it hard to get a consistant OC.
One way to tell for sure is, the availability of the 670s and 660s, tho this also isnt proof, but a hint possibly

There would be reason they aren't making the 670s and such cut from the 680.

If it was just a hard to bin to get a 680, they would have no problem launching the 670 and such but they don't seems to be. My guess is something wrong in the base layer and they can't even die harvest to get good yields on lower chips.

Nvidia has very little choices if that is the case as they would need to do a respin of the silicon while keeping the 680 production at a decent rate. Im guess almost all other kepler cards has some problem like this since the gk106 isn't launching. Nvidia probably knows that with the current design and process there would be no way to get enough volume for a mid ranged card.

The Gk110 are probably suffering from other problems as well, mainly the transistor packing would be a problem. If the romours of 7B transistors are true, they would be looking at 600mm^2 for a chip at the current transistor density at best, that does not bold well for the yeilds nor profit margins.

Overall this is looking bad for nvidia and Im not sure if the 690 is going to cut it in the main time to keep the kepler hype going.

It could be, but that is a truly dire scenario, where I give nVidia more credit than that.

It could also be the clocks theyre seeking, where in the past, the headroom was very very good, we dont see that this go round.
That speaks of aggressive clocks, and a full chip, tho if yields are low, makes the cut.
A lessor chip may then be even harder to get good numbers on, especially since, if you look at the 7970 vs the 7950, theyre fairly close, and if those 680s wont clock, theres no reason to think the 670s will either.
Like I said, time will tell

Nope, you?

There are always plenty of opportunities to separate a fool and his money. I am mad that I didn't have a dozen 690's to sell.

LOL sniper shots from 1 side of the map on the ship carrier, to the other in 1 hit..........

I did pretty well though considering 😀

My longest official headshot is 1070, but i got 1299, 1303, 1308, and 1309 in a round last week. The game crashed and didn't record it on my stats. :fou: I was dueling with 3 newbie snipers. They didn't touch me :kaola:

If he has the right aimbot, he doesn't need anybody to suppress you, he doesn't need a line of sight.

yeh, it was an aimbot alright. I was playing Kharg Island and spawned in a heli on the carrier and the hacker shot me thru the mountains from the Russian Deployment area

wow, i remember back when the game first came out. there was some hack that just generated kills by placing down a ammo box or such. Most people like that played in a non hardcore (to cut out tk) but when you jump out of a jeep going at 60mp its hard for them to step out of its path...... I see it happen to a hack once

You are right about that, if someone already has enough GPU to play the games they love, no sense in upgrading. As for Haswell I will probably wait until Broadwell comes out before I get it. Unless its performance is so far beyond SB that I am dying to get it when it comes out. Never underestimate the allure of the latest and greatest! :sol:

rock, didn't you have an fx6100 or was it someone else?
if yes, did you run into problems like bottleneck with the 560ti sli? does the phenom bottleneck/hold back sli?
in the ivb review, the fx 8150 seemed to be holding a single gtx 680 back (a bit game dependent)....

Yes i had the FX 6100, I didnt overclock it but if i would have i would have clocked it to 4.2. But currently i have a Phenom II 980 and in most cases it handles the 560 ti sli. Ill be getting a 670 soon and probably after this year ill get Intel. But yea the Phenom CPU's are better then what FX is. the 8150 is the best out of Bull Dozer. Later this year or next spring will be the release of a successor from Bulldozer.

I believe the FX 6100 would handle 560 ti sli but don't try to run a 680 on it since a 680 is much better performer over 560 ti. Even tho 560 ti SLI is the best bargain right now.

If your deciding between Ivy and Phenom II. Get a Ivy bridge. I made the mistake of getting AMD of intel. and now i am stuck in a rut i can't get out of till i have the money for one

Man, I just dodged that bullet, waited on Bulldozer, saw the benchmarks and immediately ordered a 2500k. I was going to wait for Ivy Bridge, but I'm glad I got Sandy, since there is little improvement.
