Hello everyone,
I've recently bought the ASUS VivoBook X543NA-DM322T and i cannot use the hotkeys without pressing the fn key
Essentially I want to "lock" the fn key so that I am able to adjust the volume and change brightness without having to press the fn key at the same time
I've looked at keyboard, accessibility and BIOS settings, as well as downloaded the myASUS app but I couldn't even find the option to change it
I'd really appreciate any help because it's just frustrating not being able to change this simple setting.

Solution
From a quick search, it looks like Asus may have a software utility to turn "Fn lock" on or off for that laptop, rather than a dedicated key on the keyboard. It's apparently called "Asus Keyboard Hotkeys". Try searching for it by typing that into your start menu, if it's already pre-installed. The utility should give you the option to toggle the hotkeys or the function keys as the default option.

If it's not already installed, you may need to download it either via the MyASUS utility (if you have that installed), or from the Asus support page for your laptop. It sounds like some models of laptops may include that setting as part of the "Hardware Settings" in the MyAsus utility as well, so you might also check if the option is there.
