Hey Everyone

I have recently built a new gaming / work PC and I am having some trouble. The PC turns on, lights and fans all turn on, even the ones on the graphics card etc. I have checked to make sure that all components are compatible with my motherboard etc. But here is the problem...

So I connect my tower to my monitor turn everything on, connect my mouse and it lights up all good so i know that is working. But then I connect my USB keyboard to the PC and nothing lights up. I know its not the keyboard because i connect it to my other PC and it works a treat, and i am a little bit dumb founded as i would have thought that if the mouse works then the keyboard would too. I have read up on it on other forums and on youtube and many people have said that you need to access the BIOS to enable USB devices or something. This is my first PC that I have built so please no negative feedback.

The issue is that because my keyboard wont connect, I cant access the BIOS on start up because I cant use my keyboard. I have also heard that using a PS/2 keyboard might work but I wanted to get a professional, or more direct information from someone who has run into this issue or knows what to do. I have contacted my local IT guy and he said that he isnt sure why its not recognising the key board but he also suggested a PS/2 keyboard to see if that would work.

I just want to know if there is a trick to it or if i am doing something wrong. I have everything connected and have triple checked to make sure that all the plugs are in the correct way and I have made sure that everything is connected.

Please help :)

Thank you!

System Spec:
Motherboard: MSI H310F Pro
GPU: MSI Armor Radeon RX570
CPU: Intel Core i5-9400F 9th Gen (Also have an 8th Gen Celeron G4900 to update to suit the 9th gen)
PSU: Corsair VS550
RAM: 2x8GB T-Force DDR4 3000 Gaming Delta

I am still a beginner at this whole PC thing and I have done research and what I have found on the internet may or may not be true. If I had found this forum before I purchased my parts, I probably would have had a better setup, but than again I am no PC guru lol

If you can let me know if I have any wrong components that would cause this problem, that would be amazing.

Thank you
