Hello,
I have a keyboard from a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop. What would cause some keys to work and others don't work. Like the top rows work and the bottom does not. I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled and did no good. Could it be just a bad keyboard or the ribbon underneath may be loose?

Did you add the new keyboard yourself? Was it new or used?

Yes, the first thing to check is the ribbon cable connection. That can definitely cause such a problem.

I'd take it to your local PC shop. Especially if its hardware. I would also run a test on your Keyboard. You should be able to find this on the DELL website.
