i've been reduce down to dialup (from cable),
i reset my BF for that and only go to games with low peeks.
but i either get off by PunkBuster or after getting killed one time in the
game,
the game won't let my guy spawn back into the same game,
i would have to go out (of the game), then back in, and try not to be
killed one time...
any help out there?

So what exactly do you see, a "Connection problem" message in yellow or a
"kicked from server" message in white?

While in game, open the console by pressing the ` key and type pb_plist
What does it say nect to your game.?

Is this BF1942 or BFV?

Lorian.

this is BF1942,
typing ` and pb_plist - "0 current cvar violation".

when kicked off - it's a gray or maybe it's white box, "you have been kicked
via PunkBuster (for 0 minutes) ... losing key pocket"

pb_plist shouldn't return that - check for typo.

download pbweb from www.evenbalance.com and try doing a manual update. It
take a minute or two.

It's not clear if you are playing BF or BFV, so.......

I used to play BFV dial-up, and got this problem. On the in-game
server browser, try choosing a different connection speed setting, this
*sometimes*, for *some* users seems to fix this problem. If this
doesn't help, then I can only suggest going back to broadband or
playing single player ;(

I know battlefield does not take too kindley to dial up connection, I have
been kicked from servers before because of Punkbuster for the same reason as
you but could never find a cure for it.

All I can suggest is to try a different server

Adjust speed in multiplayer screen to dial-up before joining
do a pbweb update
put pb_sleep 500 in pbcl.cfg in pb folder

Create a text file called pbcl.cfg in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield
1942\pb

add to it the one line:

pb_sleep 500

This should reduce the amount of resource that Pubkbuster uses. It is
actually the sleep time in milliseconds. The default is 250, the max is 500.

Sorry about the typo, it should say Punbkuster of course.
