Unique IP, oh well....I was kind of hoping for Vivendi to be the reason NetDragon wasn't able to get the licensing for the Transformers MMORPG in the US.

On the bright side there's still hope that maybe someday we'll see an MMORPG made from the Macross Universe, or from RIFTS...either of those would easily allow for tons of expansions and some very unique gaming (along with built in customer bases).

[citation][nom]grieve[/nom]I find its almost like once you have done it once you have done it it all them and none stack up to your original XP. ([/citation]
I want to correct my grammer, this was just bad!

I find that nothing can replace my original MMORPG... It was an original experience that can not be duplicated. The games are certainly better looking but that original "online with others" experience can not be matched. (Asheron's Call BTW)

I've played 4 MMO games in my life: EQ, Rubies of Eventide, Lineage II, and WoW. Each was a different experience and world. Each had its own lore. (Even though I knew nothing of the Lineage II lore and the Rubies of Eventide lore was very weak, I still enjoyed them.) To me, each one is like its own novel.

I've read over 500 Sci-fi and Fantasy novel series in my life, and never get tired of them or get stuck in any particular world. I look forward to new stuff, just as I look forward to this new Blizzard game like I looked forward to a newly discovered (by me) Asimov or Heinlein novel.

Asherons call was fun because the GM's would come in as level 250 towering beasts and fight the few hundred players around. was fun as hell. but got tired of the damn bugs after awhile. it was the only thing you could really kill to get any decent xp. i beta tested that game and played it off and on for about 2 years. im still liking guild wars. lvl 20 cap, can change classes and focus any time you want. no damn walking, can just click and go to the town you want to go to. no DP if you dont want it, just go back to town and start over. and free to play.

[citation][nom]dalethepcman[/nom]Hard to master... Even with 1 million gamers wanting it harder, Blizzard will always play to the masses, and with 13 million whiners asking for easy loot and levels we have WoW, where you can get to max level in a month of hardcore playing[/citation]
One could get to max level in about a week of hard but not crazy playing even in vanilla WoW, you newb.

I could never get into WoW for this reason, it's just too simplified and easy. I've yet to find any MMO that captures me as much as the original EQ did with its level of challenge. I had hopes for Vanguard when I was in its initial beta but they kept making it easier and easier until I lost interest.

I always considered the time spent getting to max level was just the training for how to play the class. The game got tough once you started raiding at max level.

To quote a blizzard game, "Hell, it's about time."

I was wondering how long they'd be able to ride on past innovations. Blizzard is like Nintendo with its "If it's not broken don't innovate" approach to branding. It doesn't matter how many features you add to an existing franchise, it still isn't true innovation.

"you have to have a real road-map for innovation and creativity"
Oh Kotick, you fool. That is NOT how you get creativity.

As for this new IP... meh. It's the same lines they tote about WoW "easy to play hard to master". Yeah right.

I really don't care to play MMOs anymore. I don't like playing a character I can't directly control and merely issue commands to.

It's sad that WoW evolved into who has the best mods and UI, not who can actually play the game. Any idiot can be a great player just by installing a mod that auto-targets players, yourself or mobs and lights up a button to press when you are supposed to do something. Somehow its not cheating either.

You know something is wrong with game mechanics when you are be able to chat with 8 people, eat pizza, text, talk on vent and "hardcore" raid at the same time.

Also, I have no interest with something that feels more like a social network with same game content in it than an actual game.

IMO Blizzard is stuck anyway. Regardless of content or new IP, if it's not a WoW clone not enuff players will like it and it will just die off. WoW's success is also its curse.

[citation][nom]hellwig[/nom]New IP you say? Blizzard hasn't had new IP since 1998. Good luck with that. SC2 was how many years late? We probably won't see Diablo3 till 2012, and yet your going to create a whole brand new game from scratch? Hah, that'll be the day.[/citation]

On the other hand, you could also say that every IP Blizzard has made has been amazing and successful. They build fantastic universes for their IP's and I'm looking forward to seeing what this one turns out to be like.

Nobody wants to give Blizzard credit, they're too big for that now. Just a bunch of haters hating, might as well ignore them.

Why can't we just have Warcraft 4. I am one of those favor wc over sc

[citation][nom]phraun[/nom]Haven't we known it was going to be new IP for a while now?😵[/citation]

Yes. To those of us who pay attention that is. I think I've known for like 2 years? Definitely at LEAST 1.

Check out the game TERA. A huge AAA MMORPG that you get to directly control the characters if you physically hit a mob it hits. If you miss the mob hit misses. You also have to jump out of the way, none of the normal dice rolling stuff. Also the graphics are amazing!

Yeah blizzard, Good luck trying to kill the future king of MMORPGS - Star Wars The Old Republic. Beating that epic game will be like everyone trying to beat WoW in the past few years but failing at it. It's time for Blizzard to take the backseat

Bobby Kotick is a pure evil man that has doomed blizzard. I won't ever pay for a blizzard game again, sorry, there are developers with heart out there that deserves my money more.

[citation][nom]rishwin[/nom]You can reach max level within 24 hours with the "recruit a friend" system. You can do it in 3 days without it.[/citation]

Not if you actually have a life....
