Lag on Chrome Browser

Hello, I am using Chrome and sometimes, it becomes very slow when I am typing messages to another friend . It doesnt happen all the time but happens frequently.
I am on Win 8.1 Pro x64.
Also when the lag happens, the entire browser gets frozen for some seconds and then returns back to normal. I am not able to close the browser or do anything for that period of time. It happens only in Chrome.
Any idea what could this be ?

Hi,

How old it your computer and what are the specs?

First thing, do you have the last update
second, check your add one
third, chrome is a virus/malware/PUP magnet,
goto bleepingcomputer download and run JRT ==> roguekiller ==> adwcleaner (would be better in safe mode )

Specs are Core i7 4771 , 32 GB DDR 3 RAM, GTX 980 AMP.
