So I built a new PC for a friend, inside of it is a Gigabyte F2A68HM-DS2H. Everything set up fine except the ethernet isn't working. I have tried multiple cords and none work. I then went and installed the motherboard drivers on the disc it came with and got a error saying "This driver can't release to failure!!' But it let me install them anyway. The LAN driver said it was for windows 8 so is that the issue?

Solution
First off, I never use the drivers supplied on the CD / DVD. Always download the latest drivers from the manufacturers site (GigaByte in this case).

Another thing to check is in the BIOS / UEFI is whether the Ethernet adapter is enabled or not. It could be disabled.
