Question lapel mic doen't properly work with laptop

My rode smartlav+ sounds great when connected to my phone, but when I record audio from my laptop it sounds terrible with a lot of noise, what I think is happening is that my laptop (lenovo), despite it catches the sound from the mic, it doesnt recognize it properly as it says that I'm supposedly using the integrated mic of the camere. Iv'e done some tests and I'm pretty sure it grabs the sound from my mic, but with a lot of noise. the computer is new, so I dont think is a hardware issue but a configuration problem, what can I do to elimitate the noise?

you may need to select the mic in sound settings.. the laptop may be still using the 'default' built in microphone

If on win 10
right click on speaker in task bar by clock

open sound settings

under 'input' choose correct input

If its not there then..

Many laptops do not have a microphone input..

And I notice the mic is a TRRS jack.. this may also be unsupported by your laptop

If windows says its using the integrated mic then it usually is..
does laptop defo have a minijack MIC Input and not just a headphone output..

is there a picture of a pair of headphones next to socket? or a picture of a mic?
