I'm currently using an HP Pavilion Gaming 15 which, according to the HP website, has a
multi-format SD media card reader for its expansion. I'm kind of stupid when it comes to these things, so I thought to ask on whether or not this means I would be able to install a second M.2 NVMe SSD or any other form of SSD through it?

Thanks in advance!

Can you pass on the SKU to your HP Pavilion Gaming 15 laptop? There might be an M.2 slot internally to allow for an SSD to drop in but that card reader will not double down as an SSD upgrade path.

Looking through this disassembly video;

your only storage options are the 2.5" drive to the left of the battery and the M.2 slot to the right of the battery.

'multi format SD card reader' has nothing to do with NVMe drives or other SSD.

It is for reading cards that come out of a device like a camera.

Not exactly sure if I got the SKU correct, but I believe mine is the "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-EC2087AX (46R32PA)" to be exact.
