Hi guys,

My question is, if I purchase a 144hz monitor.

A monitor has the following ports:
  • 1x DVI-DL
  • 1x HDMI Input
  • 1x DisplayPort
Will this monitor allow me to have 144hz as an external monitor to my laptop via a mini-display port (for the laptop) to display port (for the monitor) cable.

It would be very much appreciated if I had a response.

Thanks.

I've already looked at the following thread before posting this thread and I do not quite understand where my question relies as I have a laptop. Could anyone else please assist me regarding my issue?
Having a laptop computer doesn't change anything about this topic.
What cable do I need? Minidisplay port to display port? If so can you please link me a suitable one which will transfer 144hz
Yes, a DP to mDP cable will work.

There are cable recommendations with product links listed in the pinned thread: https://www.amazon.com/Accell-Displ...ascsubtag=tomshardware-2278301200472247070-20

I purchased a DP to mini DP cable from Amazon (supports 4k@60hz and 1080p@144hz) and it worked for those wondering.

This can be marked as resolved.
