Laptops, External GPU, and PCIe x1

Hello, my good friends.

Went and got myself a ViDock and am wondering what to do in order to counteract that horrible transition form PCIe x16 to PCIe x1.

If I don't know my terminology and am thus confusing you good readers, I am asking how to counteract the performance loss encountered when using an external gpu with a laptop.

Any suggestions.

There is nothing you can do. Even TB port is limiting eGPU for a mid range card.

First, why did you buy it without knowing how well it would perform or how to use it. Second, why not try it out and see what kind of performance YOU get rather than something someone on the interwebs said.

Ah, yes. I've been trying to find that page again. I had forgotten how "inconsequential" the loss was.

Too bad. I had heard TB wasn't much of a solution, at least not one worth putting effort into.
