Large dead spots in laptop display -- do I just need to replace the screen?

My Asus G50V's screen is going bad -- there are several large dead spots (see photo). Is it just the screen that's going bad, or do I need to replace anything else? Is laptopscreen.com a good place to buy a replacement (~$85)?

Yep...a bruised screen. Replace.

I've never done it, but I would try it if I had a laptop that I wanted to salvage.
