Lcd television computer monitor

Hello,
I have a new GE tv/monitor. In winxp it installs, but I can only get 640/440 pixel resolution and my iep requires at least 840. How do I get the driver or whatever to make the resolution on xp higher? xp only recognizes my tv/monitor as a generic, which prevents me from adjusting the resolution in the display window.

On the Monitor tab of the advanced options, there's an option "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display". Uncheck it to force Windows to allow other resolutions.
