Left audio coming from right headset and vice versa

So I've bought new headset recently, everything is fine, BUT the audio that should be coming from left earphone, is coming from the right one and vice versa. Any idea how to reverse that? (Yes I've the headset on my head correctly, can't really screw that due to the mic).

You might have a "reverse stereo" option for either the headset or for the sound output device. That should flip the left/right audio signals.

Depends on the device. At the very least, I'd take a look around the sounds tab of the windows Control Panel and see if theres any such option.

Could also be the headset though...

There is nothing like that. I think I'll have to re-solder the front jack.

Do you have any other speakers to test with, so we can confirm if its the headset or the jack itself?

Just to clarify, is the headset USB, or 3.5mm?

Without either another headset or PC to test with, its impossible to determine if its the headset or the PC at fault, which makes testing a lot more difficult. Best option would be to "borrow" a friend/neighbors PC for a few minutes and see if the sound is reversed using the headset on their PC. If so, then its the headset. If not, its your PC.

SOLUTION:
1. Right click the Volume Icon and click on Playback Devices
2. Right click and select Properties for your speakers/headset
3. From the Speaker Properties dialog box, choose the Advanced tab
4. You will probably see that your default format is set to DVD which is the highest quality, but reverses the channels (at least for me). Change it to 16bit 44100 Hz (CD Quality) and your l/r channels will work correctly.
