Today I have a challenge for everybody and that is to build your(well mine lol) own gaming pc

Needs to have:
CPU
Motherboard
RAM
Hard Drive
Case,
Power Supply
DVD Drive
Video Card
Monitor
Mouse and Keyboard
Speakers
And a windows operating system (haha).

Note:
Has to be under 1300$ dollars total
Only Intel, no AMD
Can only be bought from Newegg, Tigerdirect, or Microcenter

Good luck everybody, i want to see everyone's results and how creative they can get. This PC has to be good - fantastic in terms of gaming and school work. Also, this could help me buy a new computer, but I wanted to make this a game for everybody to just have fun!

Solution
If going to microcenter, take advantage of their CPU/Motherboard combos. Would need to know which MC you are shopping at, first. A 4690k, and compatible Z97 board like an MSI Z97 Gaming 5, or Asrock Z97 Extreme4 would be a good start.
With the Microcenter bundle deal, this would easily be below $1300.

I like the Xeon option, but if going to microcenter, the 4690k might end up being a bit cheaper.

yep if it ends up much cheaper, then get it. I have also seen good bundle deals that have this Xeon 1231 in it, less often though.
But when about the same price id almost always grab the Xeon over it.

Also note that the 500r case i put in there is overkill, as originally i tried to fit x99 based build and couldnt get it to fit in the budget, and forgot to change case.

Xeon option, this time sticking with Newegg and Microcenter. PCpartpicker doesn't include TD.

If that's the case, note the builds posted here are a good idea of what you could be able to buy. However prices on individual parts can change in as short as a day's span, so make sure to come back in a month when you're ready to buy and ask again since it's likely the builds posted here will be outdated price wise.
